Metro Lucena Integrated Learning Center(MLILC)-HISTORY

Acquired Land and the First Building (1979-1980)

THIRTY-SIX years ago (1979) the MILC founders acquired land near the old Iyam Bridge. After much excavation and landscaping, the first building was constructed on 118 M.L. Tagarao St. in 1980.  Years later the city raised the road with a new Iyam Bridge.  The original building was renovated, expanded and is now used for MLIC’s main campus.

Start of MLILC (1999)

SIXTEEN years ago (1999), MLILC started with eight students, one teacher and one assistant teacher. Last S/Y 2014-2015, we had 349 students with 51 teachers and staff.  This S/Y 2015-2016, we are expecting 379 students with additional teachers & staff.

Expansion and  Start of Elementary (1999 - 2006)

In   S/Y 2006-2007, MLILC continued to grow by expanding classrooms and adding elementary levels. At this time all class- room space is being used.

NEWLY Acquired Land AND PROSPECTIVE BUILDING (2012-Present)

In 2012, more land was acquired for MLICL’s Extension Campus. This land will be paid in full by June, 2015.  Last February 2, 2015, construction began with a groundbreaking event that was  attended by parents, teachers, students and staff. This officially launched the MLILC HOPE PROJECT! We are confident that where God guides He provides!
